I run classes and hold seminars and workshops on various topics that I feel are important and are educational for both dog owners and animal handlers alike, such as canine body language, canine aggression and canine enrichment. I am committed to educating people on better dog welfare and training techniques.
Our Principles of Dog Training and Behaviour Course is accredited through the Open College Network Northern Ireland to their level 3 standard.
It is held over ten classes covering topics like learning theory, the domestication of dogs, stages of puppyhood, socialisation, taking a class and teaching exercises and working with behaviour problems.
The 10 class accredited course will help you if you work in the dog industry as a pet minder, dog walker, sanctuary worker, kennel assistant, groomer, vet nurse or even if you are simply considering a career change and interested in working with dogs, or just to further your own education and interest in the dog world .
Sandra Gilliland and I are the course tutors and have many years of experience and education behind us and decided to use this knowledge to bring an accredited qualification to Northern Ireland.
This course has proved popular with students going forward to pursue their goals of working in the dog industry in some capacity.

"I am Committed to Educating People on better Dog Welfare & Training Techniques."
Previously Sandra and I have hosted an Open College Network Northern Ireland accredited 'Practical Dog Handling' course with the canine residents of Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary. This four week course has given our students some great practical experience working with rescue dogs and learning all about training using reward based methods.
Dates for the next Practical Dog Handling courses will be advertised on our course page.
I have also presented talks for schools, charities and day courses covering subjects like Canine Enrichment, Canine Aggression, Body Language and Signs of Stress, The Rescue Dog, and So you want to be a Dog Trainer, as well as the Why Does My Dog Do That, talk for Belfast City Council. This event gave dog owners the opportunity to ask me questions in regard to general dog behaviour and training areas, whilst promoting responsible dog ownership within the events.
My team have organised workshops on various areas such as TTouch with Jetta Reis of Make Your Dog Smile, Canine First Aid with Kerry Rhodes of Rhodes 2 Safety, and Taster Agility sessions and Canine Enrichment Hours with Smithvale Dog Centre.
I have also taken part in lots of fun dog events such as 'Waggy Races' and have hosted many dog training and agility sessions at fun dog shows for local communities.
If you are interested in booking myself to give a talk or a dog workshop, or to be involved in a fun dog event at your local premises, school, community hall, council, charity or community group email firstname.lastname@example.org
