Halloween is coming up fast and some of our dogs and puppies are frightened of the noises and flashes.
If you have a dog who is frightened or a puppy who has never encountered fireworks now is the time to start preparing them for this time of the year.
When getting or considering getting a dog or puppy we need to consider all aspects of care for the life of the dog.
As well as the costs financial and time invested of training, grooming, vet care, insurance etc we also need to ask ourselves can we properly meet their needs.
Following on from our talk at the Lamppost café earlier this month about aging dogs, I just thought I would summarise my thoughts.
We spend a lot of time thinking about puppies, socialisation and training and do not talk enough about aging dogs.
Last night we talked about the importance of continued training, socialisation, enrichment and mental stimulation throughout the dog’s life. These things keep the brain working and can slow down the process of brain aging.
